Mauritius Full Year 2021: Kia takes charge, sales up 9.7%

Kia is the most popular carmaker in Mauritius in 2021.

In 2021 the Mauritian new car market rallies back up 9.7% year-on-year to 9,560 units. Kia (+33%) claims the brands top spot off Toyota (+9.6%) at 14.4% share vs. 13.4% for the Japanese manufacturer. Suzuki (+85.7%) advances two spots to #3 just like Hyundai (+28%) to #4. In contrast Nissan (-20.6%) is in paltry shape and falls from #3 over the Full Year 2020 to #5 now. Mitsubishi (-12.3%), BMW (-17.5%) and Mercedes (-5.2%) also suffer. Ford (+22.8%) is the only additional Top 10 brand to outpace the market. Below, MG (+100%), Proton (+73.3%) and Porsche (+45.7%) stand out.
