Vietnam November 2021: Toyota Corolla Cross signs first win in market up 6%
The Toyota Corolla Cross is the best-selling vehicle in Vietnam in November.
The Vietnamese new vehicle market is up 6% year-on-year in November to 38,656 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 3.5% to 257,390. These figures climb to 50,014 and 350,777 once adding Hyundai and VinFast who report separately. Toyota (+5.7%) roughly matches the market to gain two spots on October and take the lead of the brands ranking with a round 20% share vs. 15.7% so far this year. Thaco-Kia (-0.9%) is stable and remains in 2nd place while Hyundai (-31.7%) takes a harsh hit this month and is down two ranks to #3. Vinfast (-5.2%) is up one spot to #4 while Mazda (-16.8%) is up two to round out the Top 5 but struggles year-on-year. Below, Suzuki (+122.3%), Peugeot (+61.1%), Lexus (+48.7%) and Ford (+15.8%) are among the best performers.
Model-wise, the Toyota Corolla Cross (+117.7%) snaps its first ever monthly win in Vietnam, which becomes the 2nd market to crown this model after Taiwan. The Toyota Vios (-24.6%) is up four ranks on last month to #2 while the VinFast Fadil (-11.6%) is up one to #3 and remains the year-to-date bet-seller by a large margin. The Ford Ranger (+51.7%) surges year-on-year but drops two ranks on October to #4 while the Kia Seltos (+7.5%) rounds out the Top 5 like last month. Notice also the Kia Carnival (+197.4%), Suzuki XL7 (+105%) and VinFast Lux A2.0 (+35.9%) posting strong gains further down. The Hyundai Accent (-58%) has a month off but remains #2 YTD.
