Jordan January-August 2021: Geely breaks into Top 10, Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup #1 in market up 16%
Geely is now among the 10 best-selling carmakers in Jordan.
New car sales in Jordan advance 16% year-on-year over the first eight months of 2021 to 19.709 registrations. Toyota continues to vastly dominate the brands charts with 39% share, that’s more than twice any other manufacturer in the country. Hyundai ranks 2nd with 17.6% of the market, distancing Kia at 10.2%, Mitsubishi at 7.2% and Isuzu at 6.7%. Chinese carmaker MG remains in 6th place with 3.9% share with Nissan and Honda in tow. Geely breaks into the Top 10 at #9 vs. #22 over the Full Year 2020 and Chevrolet rounds out the Top 10.
Model-wise, the Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup overtakes the Toyota Land Cruiser SW to claim the pole position with 16.4% share vs. 11.2%, while the Hyundai Tucson remains in third place at 9.5% share. Compared with the ranking as of end of April, the Toyota Hilux is up two spots to #4, passing the Mitsubishi L200 and Isuzu N-Series both down one rank. The Hyundai H1/Starex is up 28 spots to #8 while the Kia Cerato and Hyundai Elantra close out the Top 10. Notice also the MG 5 up 23 ranks to #11 and the Geely Azkarra up 13 to #16 overall.
