Cyprus August 2021: VW T-Roc cements lead in market off -19.5%
The VW T-Roc is the best-selling vehicle in Cyprus both in August and year-to-date.
According to our local partners SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT, new car sales in Cyprus tumble down -19.5% year-on-year in August to just 587 units, meaning the year-to-date volume is now up 13.4% to 7.571 units. The VW T-Roc (-28%) is the best-seller again, cementing its year-to-date lead despite falling faster than the market. The Nissan Micra (+108.1%) surges to 2nd place and returns inside the YTD Top 30 at #24, it distances two other high performing models: the Toyota Yaris (+188.9%) and Ford Puma (+2200%). Below the Hyundai Tucson (-12%) rounding out the Top 5, the Volvo XC40 is stable year-on-year and up 8 spots on last month to #6, the Kia Sportage (+70%) is down four to #7 and the VW Golf (+466.7%) up twenty to #8. The Toyota RAV4 (+66.7%) also shines in the remainder of the Top 10 while the Skoda Kamiq breaks into the YTD Top 30 at #30.
