Bulgaria August 2021: Dacia (+26%), Toyota (+66.7%) lift market up 6.9%
Toyota sales are up 66.7% year-on-year in Bulgaria in August.
New light vehicle sales in Bulgaria gain 6.9% year-on-year in August to 2.416 units, leading to a year-to-date volume up 22.3% to 22.076. Brand leader Dacia (+26%) almost quadruples the market’s growth rate to cement its pole position at 15.2% share vs. 14.7% so far this year. Back to the 2nd place it holds year-to-date, Toyota (+66.7%) does even better and climbs to 12.2% share vs. 10.1% YTD. In contrast, Renault (-22.9%), Peugeot (-14.6%) and Volkswagen (-6%) all struggle to round out the Top 5. Mercedes (+72%) and Citroen (+33.3%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10 while Nissan (+7%) matches the market and both Skoda (-44%) and Kia (-19.6%) skid down.
Over in the models ranking, the Dacia Dokker reclaims the top spot with 7.1% share with the Dacia Duster down one spot on last month to #2 and 4.6% of the market vs. 4.1% so far this year. The Nissan Qashqai remains in third place above the Toyota Corolla (+5), Kia Sportage (+6) and Toyota C-HR (+8). The Toyota RAV4 also impresses, up 17 ranks on July to #8 while the Mercedes GLE is up two to break into the Top 10 at #10.
