Cyprus July 2021: VW T-Roc and Kia Rio top market up 12.6%

The Kia Rio is equal #1 in Cyprus in July.

According to data shared by our local partners SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT, new car sales in Cyprus are up 15.6% year-on-year in June to 1.095 and up 12.6% in July to 1.190, leading to a year-to-date tally up 17.4% to 6.984. We have two models atop the July charts: the VW T-Roc (+75.6%) rallies back up 11 spots on June to cement its YTD domination at 6.1% share and the Kia Rio (+260%) jumps up 8 ranks to end the month equal #1 whereas it ranks #12 YTD. The Kia Sportage (+80.6%) completes the podium, distancing the VW T-Cross (+103.7%) also outpacing the market. The Toyota C-HR (-4.3%) isn’t that lucky but progresses three spots on June to #5. The Ford Puma (+2600%), BMW X1 (+170%) and Toyota RAV4 (+24.2%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10 while the Toyota Yaris (-27%) and Hyundai Tucson (-24.5%) struggle. There are 12 SUVs in the Top 14 with the Rio and Yaris the only cars. Beyond the Top 10, the Kia Picanto (+283.3%), BMW X2 (+166.7%), Dacia Duster (+122.2%) and Renault Captur (+50%) make themselves noticed.
