Uruguay June 2021: Renault snaps top spot in market up 79.1%
Renault is the best-selling carmaker in Uruguay in June.
New light vehicle sales in Uruguay gain 79.1% year-on-year in June to 4.198 registrations, bringing the year-to-date tally up 85.7% to 24.649. In the brands ranking we have a third leader in as many months. Renault (+162.9%) is up four spots on May to snap the pole position with a whopping 17.9% share vs. 12.2% year-to-date where it now stands at #2. Fiat (+142.7%) is knocked down to 2nd place but still vastly outperforms the market. Volkswagen (+61.8%) is up one rank on last month to #3 while Hyundai (+304.8%) scores the largest year-on-year gain in the Top 10 but drops one spot to #4. Toyota (+134.2%) and Nissan (+107.4%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10. Chery (+25.5%) remains the most popular Chinese carmaker at #11 but BYD (+380%) is catching up fast at #12. Geely (+52.4%), Dongfeng (+66.7%), Victory (+866.7%) and Changan (+52.9%) follow and all fit within the June Top 20.
