Kazakhstan March 2021: Chevrolet reclaims control of market up 21.7%
Chevrolet is back to #1 in Kazakhstan in March.
The Kazakh new vehicle market continues to soar in March with sales up 21.7% year-on-year to 8.362, leading to a year-to-date tally up 35.4% to 24.161. This year-on-year surge is about to get even more impressive in the coming months as the Kazakh market started to be affected by Covid-19 in April 2020. New local producer Chevrolet (+4402.1%) reclaims the brands top spot off Hyundai (+99.5%) itself advancing much faster than the market. Toyota (-3.9%) is in a rut but remains third ahead of GAZ (+40.9%) and Volkswagen (+84.2%) both over performing. Lexus (+98.4%) and Nissan (+46.3%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Lada (-81.9%) and Kia (-58.5%) are in dire straits.
Chevrolet also takes control of the models ranking with the Cobalt in the top spot followed by the Nexia. These two nameplates add up to 22.4% of the market this month. #1 in February and for the first time since 2015, the Hyundai Accent (+328.7%) drops to #3 despite soaring 4-fold year-on-year. The Hyundai Creta (+190.9%) is also in outstanding shape in 4th place, disturbing the Toyota Camry (-41.1%), #1 a year ago but down to #5 this time. The Toyota Prado (+241.8%), VW Polo (+60%) and GAZ Gazelle (+40.5%) also make themselves noticed in the remainder of the Top 10.
