Moldova January 2021: Toyota RAV4 leads, Peugeot 2008 scores first top 10 in market off -19.9%

The Peugeot 2008 breaks into the Moldovan Top 10 for the first time.

According to our Central European market data partner CE Auto, new car sales in Moldova drop a steep -19.9% year-on-year in January to 354 units. Leader over the Full Year 2020, the Toyota RAV4 (-45.8%) confirms it is the favourite vehicle of Moldovan customers despite lodging the largest loss in the Top 10. The Dacia Logan (-31.3%) is back up two spots on December to #2 while quite remarkably the entire Top 5 loses share: the Kia Sportage (-21.1%), Dacia Duster (-40.9%) and Skoda Kodiaq (-23.5%) all fall faster than the market. Below, the Suzuki Vitara (+8.3%) is up while the Kia Rio returns inside the Top 10 and the Peugeot 2008 scores its first Moldovan Top 10 finish at #9.
