Austria November 2020: VW ID.3 surges to third place in market down -13.8%
The VW ID. 3 is the third best-selling vehicle in Austria in November.
The Austrian new car market skids down -13.8% year-on-year in November to 20.055 units, leading to a year-to-date tally off -26.6% to 224.968. Brand leader Volkswagen (+0.7%) braves the negative conditions with a small uptick leading to a 17.8% share vs. 15.5% so far this year. BMW (+0.3%) also edges up and gains 3 spots on last month to #2. Below Skoda (-9.5%), Audi (+49%) and Seat (+24.9%) both surge ahead. The rest of the Top 10 bar Opel (-7.7%) endures double-digit falls, with Hyundai (-48.4%) and Ford (-41.3%) the worst hit.
Model-wise, the VW Golf (+37.5%) repeats at #1 to sign its third win of the year (add February), but it’s far from enough to even threaten the reign of of the Skoda Octavia (-16.7%) which has a 1.244-unit advantage in the year-to-date charts. The hero of the month is the VW ID.3, up from outside the October Top 20 directly to third place with 2.6% share. The Fiat 500 Family (+43.3%), BMW X1 (+36.4%) and VW T-Cross (+28%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10 while below, the Seat Ibiza (+128.9%), VW Bus (+103.2%), Audi A4 (+82.7%), Seat Leon (+56.3%), Dacia Sandero (+52.1%) and Skoda Karoq (+17.8%) stand out.
