Bulgaria October 2020: Dacia (+68.1%) monopolises podium, blissfully ignores market down -26%

The Bulgarian new light vehicle market sinks another -26% year-on-year in October to 2.567 units, leading to a year-to-date tally off -36.7% as re-exports an important component of Bulgarian sales, are made more difficult by pandemic-induced travel restrictions. Dacia (+68.1%) blissfully ignores the storm to reach a massive 20.5% share, reclaiming the YTD leadership off Renault (+22.3%) also in great shape this month. Skoda (+11%) is the only additional Top 10 carmaker in positive while below, Fiat (-84.2%), Nissan (-66.9%), Mazda (-65.6%), Hyundai (-58.7%), BMW (-54.3%), Kia (-45.2%) and Volkswagen (-43.4%) all implode.

We can now share with you a complete monthly All-models ranking for Bulgaria for the first time in almost 4 years. It shows the Dacia Sandero in the lead vs. #7 year-to-date, followed closely by the Dacia Dokker vs. #4 YTD.  The Duster completes a podium 100% Dacia and distances the Renault Clio and Toyota Corolla. Still leader year-to-date, the Nissan Qashqai ranks at a paltry 6th place ad could see its supremacy treated before 2020 comes to an end if it continues to score low volumes in the coming two months. The Dacia Logan surges to #7 vs. #19 YTD, the Toyota C-HR is up to #9 vs. #14 so far this year, the Skoda Citigo is up to #10 vs. #53 and the Nissan Juke up to #11 vs. #54.
