Latvia August 2020: Toyota RAV4, Corolla remain best-sellers in struggling market (-31.6%)
The Toyota RAV4 remains the best-selling vehicle in Latvia in 2020.
New car sales in Latvia drop a harsh -31.6% year-on-year in August to just 1.113 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down -28.4% to 9.181. The Toyota RAV4 (-11.2%) remains on top year-to-date with a minimal loss due to the gearing up of the hybrid variant, and it is followed by the Toyota Corolla (-33.6%) and Skoda Octavia (-22.4%). The VW Golf (-48.3%) is hit full frontal and hasn’t seen any benefit from the arrival of the 8th generation just yet, while the VW Tiguan (-71.5%) is in an even worse position. Outpacing the market in the remainder of the Top 10 are the Skoda Scala (+671.4%), Kia Sportage (-1.7%), Skoda Kodiaq (-15.9%) and VW Passat (-17.5%).
