Hong Kong (China) June 2020: Kia (+117.6%), Honda (+20.3%), Lexus (+17.9%) defy 6th straight double-digit market drop (-20%)
Kia sales are up 117.6% year-on-year in a market down -20%.
New light vehicle sales in Hong Kong endure a 6th consecutive double-digit year-on-year drop in June at -20% to 2.715 units, leading to a year-to-date volume off -22.1% to 14.985 sales halfway through 2020. Toyota (-30.4%) easily holds onto the brands top spot with 30.5% share despite falling significantly faster than the market while Mercedes (+0.7%) brilliantly edges up to hit 15.6% share in 2nd place. Kia (+117.6%), Honda (+20.3%) and Lexus (+17.9%) also secure fantastic gains in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Nissan (-51.1%), Suzuki (-46.3%), BMW (-38.7%) and Subaru (-30%) implode. Below, Ford (+550%), Tesla (+425%), Volvo (+52.6%), Mitsubishi (+25%) and Land Rover (+9.4%) stand out. Dongfeng breaks into the Top 20.
