New car sales in New Caledonia, a French Overseas archipelago located north-east of Australia, continue to race ahead: after surging 35.2% in June, they gain another 43.8% year-on-year in July to 971 units, spectacularly tilting the year-to-date tally into positive up 4.1% to 4.384. Toyota (+66.4%), Dacia (+60.9%) and Ford (+85.4%) are all engineers of this euphoric area whereas Renault (stable), Citroen (-9.5%) and Peugeot (-19.3%) suffer. Subaru (+154.5%), Hyundai (+52.3%) and Suzuki (+46.4%) also outpace the market in the remainder of the Top 10 while newcomer MG steps up 4 spots on June to lad at #16 with 1.5% share. Model-wise, the Dacia Duster (+66.7%), Toyota RAV4 (+257.1%) and Subaru XV (+200%) all outperform the market to top the charts while the Hyundai Tucson (+175%), Subaru Forester (+137.5%) and Dacia Sandero (+130.8%) also shine in the Top 10 and the MG ZS breaks into the Top 30 for the first time at #27.
