Israel June 2020: Chevrolet (+107.8%), Seat (+82.7%) thin market loss to just -2.8%
The facelifted Chevrolet Spark is a hit in Israel.
Thanks to our partnership with cartube.co.il, we can share with you today complete models and brands data for Israel in June, Q2 and H1. The Israeli new car market has stabilised in June at -2.8% to 21.217 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down -24.5% to 119.294. Although Hyundai (-26%), Toyota (-16.6%) and Kia (-9.9%) keep the lead of the brands ranking they are all significantly under-performing and lose share year-on-year. In contrast Chevrolet (+107.8%), Seat (+82.7%), Skoda (+28.9%) and Citroen (+26.2%) swim upstream with spectacular year-on-year lifts, joined by Mitsubishi (+6.3%) and Mazda (+2.3%) on the positive side. Ford (+288.4%), DS (+233.3%), Alfa Romeo (+180%), Cadillac (+160%), Jaguar (+87.5%), Lexus (+59.3%), Volkswagen (+41.9%), Volvo (+37.7%), Subaru (+32.1%), Audi (+21.8%) and Mini (+21.2%) also impress further down.
Over in the models ranking, the Toyota Corolla (-70.8%), Kia Picanto (-54.2%) and Hyundai i10 (-55.5%) are in the lead but it’s the Toyota RAV4 (-8.5%) that posts by far the best hold in the Top 9 in 4th place overall, with the Hyundai i20 (-26.8%) also resisting and the Seat Ibiza (+1.7%) scoring the only gain in the Top 10. Leader over Q1, the Hyundai Ioniq (-66.3%) drops to #7 but given Q1 volumes were immensely superior to Q2 it retains the YTD lead with 6.288 sales (-16.2%) vs. 6.000 (-22.4%) for the Corolla. Notice also outstanding performances from the Chevrolet Spark (+34.4%), Mitsubishi Space Star (+24.5%), Citroen Berlingo (+21.6%), Skoda Superb (+18.1%) and Subaru Forester (+16.7%). The Skoda Kamiq (#26) tops recent launches above the Hyundai Venue (#33), Mazda CX-30 (#44), Skoda Scala (#50), MG ZS (#52) and VW T-Cross (#57).
