Venezuela Full Year 2019: Toyota Fortuner #1, production down to 459 units, sales up 21.7% to 1.723

In a country decimated by the economic crisis, the association traditionally reporting sales data in the country, the Cámara Automotriz de Venezuela (CAVENEZ), closed its website in 2017 and the Cámara de Fabricantes Venezolanos de Productos Automotrices (Favenpa) did so in July 2018. However production and sales data is still available, and shows that in 2019, only 459 vehicles were produced in the country, down -60.3% on 2018. Only three brands produced in Venezuela in 2019, with Toyota accounting for the 92.6% of the total volume and Iveco and Mack sharing the rest of the tally. The Toyota Fortuner, Hilux and Corolla are the most produced vehicles in Venezuela in 2019.

As for sales, they are actually up 21.7% to 1.723, including 860 locally-made (-38.2%) and 863 imports (+3496%). 2019 overall sales of 1.723 new vehicles are to be compared with a record high of 491.899 in 2007. Locally-made vehicle sales were 2.869 in 2016, 2.461 in 2017 and 1.392 in 2018. Imports were at 815 in 2016, 1.111 in 2017 and 24 in 2018. The best-selling vehicle in Venezuela in 2019 is the Toyota Fortuner with 24.2% share, toppling the Toyota Hilux (11.1%) leader in 2017 and 2018. The imported new generation Toyota Fortuner SW4 (11.1%) is equal #2 with the Hilux.
