Cyprus March 2020: Toyota Yaris leads army of SUVs in market down -16.3%
The new Toyota Yaris has just landed in Cyprus.
With 750 coronavirus cases confirmed as of April 17, Cyprus has been relatively unscathed, and as a result the only significant measure taken by the local government was the closing of international borders on March 15. According to our contact in the country, most of the country’s workforce was working from home or on rotation during March. Thanks to our partnership with SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT, we can share with you today Cyprus data: new car sales in March drop -16.3% year-on-year to 742, but the year-to-date tally remains in positive for now at +5.7% to 2.920. The Toyota Yaris (-19.6%) takes the lead of the models ranking for the month and despite a steep fall, distancing the Kia Sportage (+270%), Toyota C-HR (+22.2%), Nissan Qashqai (-34%) and Hyundai Tucson (+11.1%). The new VW T-Cross, the Jeep Renegade (+188.9%), Toyota RAV4 (+56.3%), Hyundai Kona (+46.2%), Nissan Juke (-32.1%) and Kia Stonic (-71.4%) ensure there are 10 SUVs in the March Top 11.
