Croatia February 2020: Skoda (+62.7%) places Octavia at #1, Kamiq and Scala in Top 10 and Kodiaq in Top 20

The Skoda Kamiq breaks into the Croatian Top 10 for the first time at #8.

The Croatian new car market continues to swim upstream in a depleted European context with February sales up another 4.8% to 3.717 units, lifting the year-to-date tally up 2.9% to 7.305. Skoda (+62.7%) is the hero of the month, surging to 17.1% share vs. 15.3% so far in 2020 and overtaking traditional leader Volkswagen (-1.1%). Renault (+6.5%) and Dacia (-5.5%) camp on their January and FY2019 positions, with Suzuki (-33.5%) in dire straits just below. Fiat (+318.6%), Kia (+40.5%) and Toyota (+17.2%) also post spectacular gains in the remainder of the Top 10. Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia (+94.3%) sails off in the distance, selling more than twice the volume of any other nameplate in the market including the Fiat 500 (+600%) up 6 spots on January to #2. The VW T-Cross returns onto the podium at #3 while Skoda justifies its brands domination by placing the Kamiq at a record #8 for its first Croatian Top 10 or 20 finish, the Scala at #10 for its first Top 10 finish and the Kodiaq at #18 for its first Top 20 finish. The VW Passat (+93.3%), Seat Ibiza (+91.5%), Kia Stonic (+59.2%), VW Golf (+58.3%) and Dacia Sandero (+30%) also shine.
