Panama First Half 2019: Hyundai Accent teases Toyota Hilux for #1 in market down -7.8%

The Hyundai Accent Sedan misses out on the Panama top spot for 28 sales.

Rare data for Panama is available with some delay on BSCB. Over the First Half of 2019, new light vehicle sales in the country drop -7.8% to 23.520 units. Toyota remains the most popular carmaker in the country ahead of Hyundai, Nissan overtakes Kia to step onto the podium, with Suzuki rounding up the Top 5 like last year. The rest of the Top 10 is unchanged on FY2019, starting with Honda, Mitsubishi and Chevrolet. Below, BMW, Mercedes and Lexus top premium fares while MG (#27), JMC (#30), Foton (#31) and Brilliance (#32) are the best-selling Chinese brands. The Toyota Hilux is once again the #1 model in Panama, but only holds a 28 unit-advantage over the Hyundai Accent Sedan just as the Kia Rio Sedan closes the podium. The Toyota RAV4, Nissan Frontier and Honda CR-V evolve at much higher levels than in 2018.
