Taiwan November 2019: Toyota RAV4 (+139.2%) confirms YTD domination in market up 13%
The Toyota RAV4 cements its YTD domination in Taiwan.
The Taiwanese new car market gains 13% year-on-year in November to 40.705 registrations, tilting the year-to-date tally into positive at +0.2% and 393.912 units. Brand leader Toyota (+41%) posts by far the largest year-on-year uptick in the Top 5, lifting its share to 27.6% vs. 24.3% so far in 2019. Mitsubishi/CMC (-6.1%) struggles but remains #2 ahead of Nissan/Infiniti (-10.6%), Honda (+3.5%) and Mercedes (+14.8%). Lexus (+64.8%) and Ford (+44%) are the best performers in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Mazda (-25.9%) implodes. Model-wise the Toyota RAV4 (+139.2%) spectacularly confirms it is the new year-to-date favourite with a 600 sales-advantage over the Toyota Corolla (+62.9%) also in excellent shape thanks to the new generation. The Nissan Kicks (+21.9%) holds onto the third place as per the YTD order, with the Honda CR-V (+14.3%) and Toyota Sienta (+7.5%) in tow for the month. Notice also the Ford Focus (+169.7%), Lexus NX (+85.3%) and Lexus UX (+636.3%) all posting spectacular gains in the Top 12 just as the new Mazda CX-30 breaks into the Top 50 for the first time, landing at #27.
