Greece November 2019: Volkswagen (+36.3%), Hyundai (+26.4%) help prop market up 8.3%
The VW T-Roc is stuck at a record 5th place in Greece.
The Greek new car market gains 8.3% year-on-year in November to 7.464 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally up 9.6% to 107.512, the best result since 2010. At #1, Toyota (-10.3%) is with Opel (-9%) the only Top 10 carmaker in negative but easily stays on top at 12.7% share vs. 11.1% so far in 2019. Volkswagen (+36.3%) and Citroen (+19.2%) also impress in the Top 5 while BMW (+54.5%), Skoda (+53.1%) and Hyundai (+26.4%) are the most dynamic in the remainder of the Top 10.
Model-wise, quite strikingly the Top 5 remains unchanged on October with the Toyota Yaris (-21.7%) selling more than double any other nameplate in the market at 7.5% share vs. 6.3% YTD, the Citroen C3 (+14.5%) and Nissan Qashqai (+64.3%) completing the podium and the VW Polo (-25.2%) and T-Roc (+86.5%) rounding up the Top 5. The Toyota Corolla (+946.7%), Peugeot 3008 (+45.9%) and Mercedes A-Cass (+11.4%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10 while the VW T-Cross (#11) continues to dominate recent launches above the Skoda Kamiq (#39) and Scala (#51).
