Bulgaria November 2019: Nissan (+324.5%) repeats re-export fuelled first place in stable market (+1.1%)
Bulgaria has become a major re-export hub for Nissan.
The Bulgarian new car market is stable in November at +1.1% and 3.582 registrations, leading to a year-to-date volume up 6.4% to 40.908. Bulgaria has now become a major re-exporting hub for Nissan (+324.5%), #1 brand in the country for the second month running but an estimated 70% of these monthly registrations are then cancelled so the cars (mostly Qashqais) can be re-exported to other parts of the European Union, taking advantage of lower car prices in Bulgaria. However this is happening to late in the year to give Nissan a chance at ending 2019 in pole position, with Dacia (-32.4%) still firmly in control of the YTD charts at 12.2% share. Toyota (+9.5%) ranks #2 in November like last month, with Renault (-25.1%) and Volkswagen (+31.8%) rounding up the Top 5. Fiat (+161%), Hyundai (+138.5%), Seat (+70.6%), Mazda (+67.4%), Peugeot (+26.3%) and Audi (+25%) also make themselves noticed further down.
Previous month: Bulgaria October 2019: Nissan (+412.6%) leaps up to first place, sales up 13.6%
One year ago: Bulgaria November 2018: Dacia (+36%), Citroen (+55%) can’t prevent market down -6%
