Pakistan October 2019: New Suzuki Alto holds 37% of market imploding -56.2%

The new Suzuki Alto is the best-selling vehicle in Pakistan by far.

Thanks to PAMA we can share with you October sales of locally-produced light vehicles in Pakistan, a fair representation of what the best-seller landscape given high taxes make new car imports negligible. The Pakistani market is in total freefall again this month, losing -56.2% year-on-year to just 10.932 sales, leading to a year-to-date tally down -23.9% to 165.771. Brand leader Suzuki (-48.1%) resists better than the market and posts an outstanding 63.8% share vs. 58.5%, distancing Toyota (-61.1%) and Honda (-72.3%) both literally imploding. Model-wise, the new Suzuki Alto continues to obliterate the competition but recedes below the 40% share milestone for the month at 37%. The Toyota Corolla (-64.7%) and Suzuki Cultus (-50.9%) are also above 10% share, with the podium nameplates accounting for a mammoth 65.9% of the Pakistani market in October.
