Vietnam September 2019: Mitsubishi (+203.9%) continues to impress in market up 9.5%

The Mitsubishi Xpander reaches 7.5% share in Vietnam this month.

The Vietnamese new vehicle market gains 9.5% year-on-year in September to 27.767 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 19.3% to 230.334. Toyota (+17.2%) easily retains the manufacturers crown at 26.4% share ahead of Thaco-Kia (+10.9%) at 17.4% and Mitsubishi (+203.9%) at 11%. Suzuki (+85.3%) and Honda (+21.5%) also easily outpace the market in the remainder of the Top 10, with Hyundai (-23.6%), Peugeot (-19.8%) and Isuzu (-13.1%) vastly under-performing. Model-wise, the Toyota Vios (-0.2%) resists in first place above the Mitsubishi Xpander (+7903.8%) up to 7.5% share, its 2nd highest ever below the 7.8% it hit last March. The Toyota Fortuner (+23.3%) and Innova (-14.5%) follow ahead of the Mazda3 (+3.9%) rounding up the Top 5. The Ford Ranger (+56.3%) and Honda City (+11.4%) also shine in the Top 10 but the Kia Cerato (-29.5%) and Mazda CX-5 (-16.7%) struggle.
