Ireland September 2019: Ford Kuga clings lead in 4th market uptick in past 6 months (+7.4%)
The Ford Kuga is the most popular vehicle in Ireland in September.
The Irish market register a 4th year-on-year gain in the past 6 months in September at +7.4% to 3.427 units, leading to a year-to-date volume down -7.5% to 113.957. Brand leader Volkswagen (+40.9%) vastly outperforms the market, in fact recuperating from a particularly weak post-WLTP year-ago volume, and distances Ford (+13.9%), Toyota (+58%) and BMW (+34.6%) all also growing faster than the market. Mercedes (+63.7%), Opel (+44.6%) and Kia (+11%) also impress in the Top 10 whereas Skoda (-18%), Peugeot (-10.5%) and Hyundai (-2.5%) disappoint. In the models ranking, the Ford Kuga (+152.6%) takes the lead potentially thanks to heavy discounts on the outgoing generation, followed by the VW Polo (+25.5%), Tiguan (+42.9%) and Toyota Corolla (+607.1%) holding onto the YTD top spot. The VW Passat (+550%), BMW 3 Series (+461.5%), Kia Cee’d (+330%) and Skoda Kodiaq (+243.8%) post extravagant gains in the remainder of the Top 20 while the VW T-Cross is up another 7 spots on August to a record #12.
