Bulgaria August 2019: Dacia (+66.8%), Renault (+30.1%) ignore sliding market (-2.1%)
Dacia sales soar 66.8% in August in a declining Bulgarian market.
New car sales in Bulgaria hold strong in August at -2.1% to 3.966 units keeping in mind August 2018 was boosted by artificial pre-WLTP sales, meaning the year-to-date tally is now up 6.5% to 31.131. Brand leader Dacia (+66.8%) continues to spectacularly outperform the market, leaping to an outstanding 17.2% share vs. 12.8% so far this year. It distances Volkswagen (+7.6%) up to 11.8% share vs. 8.3% YTD and Renault (+30.1%) also very strong, but the next 4 carmakers struggle: Nissan (-55.9%), Skoda (-25.6%), Peugeot (-12.4%) and Toyota (-4.2%) all slide. Further down, notice Lexus (+171.4%), Land Rover (+162.5%), Hyundai (+100%), BMW (+95.5%), Fiat (+48.6%), Kia (+42.6%), Mazda (+40.4%) and Citroen (+39.2%) all scoring fantastic year-on-year gains.
