World First Half 2019: Toyota reclaims #1 manufacturer title

The new generation RAV4 is helping Toyota reclaim the world #1 manufacturer title.

According to our respected colleague Bertel Schmidt writing on the Daily Kanban, the Toyota Group reclaims the title of largest automotive manufacturer in the world over the First Half of 2019 thanks to deliveries up a fantastic 4.1% to 5.5 million units. This is a remarkable feat in the current depleted worldwide context. Keep in mind that depending on whether you included heavy trucks, the Full Year 2018 title was shared between the Volkswagen Group (with) and the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance (without). No such ambiguity this time with the Toyota Group distancing the VW Group (-2.8%) by almost 100.000 units while the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance (-8.6%) is in great difficulty almost 400.000 units below Toyota.
