Luxembourg April 2019: Audi leaps past Mercedes and BMW to #2

Audi is the 2nd best-selling carmaker in Luxembourg in April.

New car sales in Luxembourg gain 5% year-on-year in April to 5.642 registrations, lifting the year-to-date volume up 4.3% to 20.509. Volkswagen remains by far the most popular carmaker with 14.3% share, well above its YTD level of 13.1%. Audi (9.8%) overtakes both Mercedes (8.7%) and BMW (7.8%) to snap the #2 spot while Peugeot (5.5%), Ford (4.9%) and Skoda (4.4%) all edge past Renault (4.3%) to rank from #5 to #7. Seat is up 3 spots on March to #9, Volvo one to return inside the Top 10, Mini is up 8 to #15, Land Rover up 3 to #18 but Tesla down 9 to #27. Model-wise, the VW Golf (-31.9%) stays ahead despite a harsh drop, distancing the VW Tiguan (+65.3%) and Mercedes A-Class (+353.6%) both in outstanding shape while the Audi Q3 breaks into the YTD Top 10 at #8.
