The new Toyota Corolla easily takes the lead of the Finnish charts.
The Finnish market remains in the gutter with May registrations down another -13.5% year-on-year to 10.607, marking the 8th double-digit drop in the past 9 months and leading to a year-to-date volume down -14.5% to 48.883. Leader Toyota (-1.6%) resists the best in the Top 5 while Ford (-25.8%), Volkswagen (-24.4%), Volvo (-17.8%) and Skoda (-15.6%) all skid down pretty nastily. Tesla (+250%), Mitsubishi (+106.2%), Land Rover (+59.1%), Lexus (+30.8%) and Citroen (+21.7%) stand out further down.
In the models ranking, the Toyota Corolla (+1186.3%) takes advantage of the Auris-replacing hatch to advance fairly and squarely ahead with 6.2% share, over two percentage points above the #2, the Nissan Qashqai (+11.7%) while the YTD leader the Skoda Octavia (-12.3%) recedes to #3. The Volvo V40 (+152.6%), Toyota RAV4 (+50.9%), Ford Focus (+48.8%) and Toyota Yaris (+10.6%) also post impressive gains near the top.
