Poland April 2019: Toyota Corolla leaps up to #2 in record market
The Toyota Corolla is up to #2 in Poland in April.
New light vehicles in Poland gain 4% year-on-year in April to 52.190 units including light commercials, a new record for the month leading to a year-to-date volume up 1.7% to 208.927, also a new record. Skoda (+7.7%) and Toyota (+9.1%) both outpace the market atop the brands ranking, knocking Volkswagen (-8%) down to #3. Mercedes (+18.5%), Renault (+13.8%) and Hyundai (+12.8%) also shine in the Top 10 but once again the hero of the month is Dacia soaring 49.1% to #5. Outside the Top 10, BMW (+51.4%), Citroen (+19.2%), Audi (+13.2%) and Mazda (#14) also impress.
Model-wise, after being outsold for #1 by the Dacia Duster for the first time last month, the Skoda Octavia (+6.8%) is black in charge while the Toyota Corolla (+91.1%) benefits from the new hatch to lift up 5 spot on March to #2 and the Skoda Fabia (+3.9%) is down one to round up the podium just above last month’s winner the Dacia Duster (+49.1%), now also #4 YTD. The Ford Kuga (+140%), Renault Megane (+118.2%), Citroen C3 (+89.3%), Volvo XC60 (+63.6%), Ford Fiesta (+61%), Skoda Kodiaq (+46.1%), Renault Clio (+40%) and Dacia Sandero (+37.7%) shine below.
