Under the impulse of a dynamic domestic push for local production while imports are now fully banned, the Algerian new car market is estimated to have lifted up roughly 25% year-on-year to establish itself around the 125.000 unit mark. The Renault Group is the main local producer and logically ultra-dominant with sales up 14.6% to an estimated 56.7% share. Thanks to the start of local production for the Clio, Renault (+22.9%) overtakes Dacia (+8.9%) to take the lead of the brands ranking. Seat (+263%) posts an incredible surge, making Algeria its 6th largest market volume-wise, below Germany, Spain, the UK, France and Italy. Model-wise, the Dacia Sandero (+8.9%) cements its leadership ahead of the Renault Symbol (-21.2%) and Clio (new).
