Slovakia February 2019: Skoda Fabia back in charge, Hyundai i30 (+72.3%) strong

Hyundai sales soar 18.3% with the i30 up 72.3% in Slovakia.

The Slovak new car market is down again in February at -2.1% to 7.579 units, leading to a year-to-date volume down 7.1% to 14.675. Brand leader Skoda (-11.7%) underperforms at 18.2% share whereas Hyundai (+18.3%) is in fantastic shape, just as Kia (-4.9%) and Volkswagen (-2.6%) recede and Dacia (+4.2%) is up. Renault (+93.6%), Opel (+55.35) and Peugeot (+18.7%) post the largest gains in the Top 10 but Suzuki (-15%) and Citroen (-10%) struggle. Model-wise, the Skoda Fabia (+16.5%) resumes its domination but the Octavia (-14.1%) remains #1 YTD, while the Hyundai i30 (+72.3%) surges to third place ahead of the Skoda Rapid (+7.9%) and Kia Cee’d (+18.2%). The Dacia Duster (#6) and Renault Clio (#7) leap into the Top 10 just as the Skoda Karoq (-11.7%) drops 3 spots on January to #10.
