Mayotte (France) Full Year 2018: Dacia #2 with 20.7% share in market up 8.9%

One in five passenger cars sold in Mayotte in 2018 is a Dacia.

Today we add a new market on BSCB! New car sales in Mayotte, an overseas French territory located North of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean and home of 256,000 inhabitants, are up a strong +8.9% to 1.412 units. The Mayotte brands ranking is very atypical, with some worldwide best-sellers doing particularly poorly here: Toyota only sold 3 units in 2018 and Volkswagen is absent!

Peugeot (+3%) holds a mammoth 29.3% share but the biggest surprise is perhaps Dacia (-2%) in 2nd place with a huge 20.7%, albeit its 2017 score was even better (23.2%)… Ford (+25.1%) ranks third with an equally impressive 18.3% share, ahead of Renault (+2.6%) and Nissan (stable). Kia (+146.2%), Citroen (+53.1%), Fiat (+31.1%) and Suzuki (+20%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10.
