The Toyota Avanza reclaims command of the Indonesian sales charts in March.
9/06/2020 update: Now with Top 120 All-models ranking.
New vehicle sales in Indonesia continue on their freefall in this start of 2019 with March wholesales skidding down -11.4% to 90.189, leading to a Q1 volume down -13.1% to 253.863. In the brands ranking, Toyota (-8.6%), Daihatsu (+14.4%) and Mitsubishi (-5.8%) all outpace the market on the podium, whereas Honda (-24.5%) and Suzuki (-35.3%) vastly underperform to round up the Top 5. Nissan (+109.2%) is lifted by the arrival of the new generation Livina (#12), which is now a rebadged Mitsubishi Xpander.
Model-wise, the Toyota Avanza (+20.3%) takes advantage of its facelift to regain control of the ranking both in March at 9.5% share and YTD at 7.8%. This month it distances the Mitsubishi Xpander (+8.3%), Daihatsu Sigra, Toyota Rush and Kijang Innova, while the leader of the past two month, the Honda Brio falls to #6. We have a newcomer in the Top 20: the Nissan Livina leaps up to #12 as the new generation is in fact a rebadged Mitsubishi Xpander.
