Kazakhstan February 2019: Lada Granta and 4×4 top market up 3.8%
The Lada Granta is the best-selling nameplate in Kazakhstan in February, like in neighbouring Russia.
The Kazakh new vehicle market gains 3.8% year-on-year in February to 4.392 registrations, leading to a YTD tally up 18% to 8.846. Lada surges 37.7% year-on-year to improve its market share to a fantastic 28.4%, almost ten percentage points above Toyota (+3.7%) at 18.6%. Renault (+94.4%), Lexus (+55.7%), Kia (+49.5%) and Hyundai (+37.8%) post the largest gains in the Top 10 with Volkswagen (+37.1%) not far below. Mitsubishi (+161.1%), Skoda (+111.5%) and Mazda (+50%) also impress. Model-wise, the Lada Granta (+100%) exactly doubles its sales year-on-year to snap the pole position ahead of the Lada 4×4 (+17.6%) and last month’s leader the Toyota Camry (+31.9%). The Hyundai Accent (+197%), Lada Vesta (+88.7%), Hyundai Tucson (+43.8%) and Toyota Prado (+35.1%) also stand out in the remainder of the Top 10.
