Latvia Full Year 2018: VW Golf reclaims pole position

The Latvian new car market posts a 5th year of gain in a row in 2018 at +1.1% to 16.879 units, this despite December sales plunging down 17.6%. After a four-year hiatus, the VW Golf (+31.7%) reclaims the title of best-selling vehicle in Latvia at 5.3% share, over 200 sales above the winner of the past 3 years, the Nissan Qashqai (-15.3%). The VW Golf was #1 in Latvia from 2010 to 2013. The Toyota RAV4 (+9.1%) steps up two spots to #3 while the VW Tiguan (+20.6%) and Toyota Auris (+50.4%) both gain three ranks to land at #4 and #5 respectively. The Toyota C-HR (+8%) and Avensis (+6.6%) are the only remaining Top 10 models posting a gain, with the Kia Sportage (-34.8%) and VW Passat (-21.1%) hit particularly hard.
