Ukraine November 2018: Renault, Nissan, Kia shine in third consecutive market decline
The Qashqai (+214%) helps Nissan up 108% in Ukraine in November.
The Ukrainian new light vehicle market seems to have hit a plateau, with November marking its third consecutive month of year-on-year decline at -4.4% to 7.337 registrations. The year-to-date tally remains in positive at +2.4% to 74.842 units but is still 62% below the pre-Crimea crisis levels of 2013 (196.275 units in 11 months). Renault soars 15% to snap the brands pole position for the third time in the past 5 months at 11.8% share vs. 10.6% year-to-date, distancing the YTD leader Toyota (-10%) at 10.3% vs. 12.4%. But it’s Nissan (+108%) that’s the most impressive in the Top 10 (and Top 30), managing to double its sales year-on-year. Kia (+29%) and Mitsubishi (+18%) also shine but Volkswagen (-34%), Mazda (-28%) and Mercedes (-23%) struggle. Further down, notice Tesla (+210%), JAC (+133%), Porsche (+76%), Honda (+64%), Chery (+56%), Jaguar (+53%), Seat (+48%), Fiat (+45%), Infiniti (+26%) and Subaru (+24%) all posting spectacular gains.
