New car sales in New Caledonia, a French Overseas archipelago located north-east of Australia, return to negative in November at ghastly -30.7% to just 542 registrations, pulling the year-to-date volume down 3.8% to 7.666 units. Toyota (-6%) contains its fall to cement its brand leadership at 11.8% share, distancing Dacia (-30%), Peugeot (-50%) and Ford (-26%) whereas Kia (+55%) and Suzuki (+46%) completely ignore the surrounding gloom to post spectacular improvements. Hyundai (-7%) also resists ok in the remainder of the Top 10. Model-wise, the Ford Ranger (-6%) reclaims the top spot it holds year-to-date off the Dacia Duster (-29%), #1 last month, with the Toyota Hilux (-26%), Yaris (+150%) and Dacia Sandero (-8%) rounding up the Top 5. Excellent performance of the new Suzuki Jimny breaking into the Top 10 at #8 vs. #41 year-to-date.
