Ireland November 2018: Hyundai (+204%), BMW (+265%) impress in shut down market

The BMW 5 Series is the best-selling vehicle in Ireland in November.

Traditionally, the Irish new car market shuts down towards the end of the year, awaiting new licence plates in January. As such, November figures, at 643 sales (-5.7%) are so tiny they aren’t representative. The year-to-date tally is now down 4.4% to 125.415 units and won’t move too much by the time 2018 is over. Hyundai (+204%) gets up to 10.9% share to top this month’s brand ranking, dislodging Volkswagen (-53%), while BMW (+265%), Ford (+32%), Toyota (+43%), Peugeot (+100%) and Opel (+63%) follow, all with extravagant gains. Suzuki (+111%) and Seat (+37%) also shine inside the Top 10. The BMW 5 Series (+620%), Hyundai i40 (+867%), Ford Focus (+60%), Toyota Yaris (+167%) and VW Polo (-46%) top the models ranking.
