Kazakhstan September 2018: Lada back on top, 4×4 up 72% to #2

The Kazakh new car market gains another strong 15.2% year-on-year in September to 5.675 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally up 28% to 43.653. Lada surges 67% to reclaim the brands lead for the second time in the past 3 months at 23.4% share vs. 22.1% so far in 2018, knocking Toyota (+9%) into 2nd place while Hyundai (+65%), Nissan (+61%), Volkswagen (+61%) and Lexus (+54%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10 as does truck manufacturer Kamaz (+72%). Further down, Skoda (+669%), Mazda (+179%), Land Rover (+163%) and Infiniti (+150%) are among the biggest gainers. The Toyota Camry (+2%) remains the best-selling model in the country but it’s the Lada 4×4 (+72%), Granta (+105%), Vesta (+103%) and Hyundai Tucson (+212%) that really impress in the Top 5. The Hyundai Creta (+163%), Nissan X-Trail (+104%), VW Polo (+97%), Kia Rio (+83%), Toyota RAV4 (+69%), Lada XRAY (+58%) and Toyota Prado (+53%) also shine further down.
