The Irish new car market jumps back into positive in August at +2.9% to 5.922 registrations, yet the year-to-dat tally remains in decline at -3.8% to 119.926. Volkswagen (+27%) holds onto the top for the third straight month at 12.9% share, two percentage points above its YTD level and distancing this time Ford (+13%), Toyota (-8%) and Skoda (-6%). Nissan (+47%), Renault (+43%) and Peugeot (+24%) post the largest gains in the Top 10 while further down, Volvo (+58%), BMW (+52%), Mitsubishi (+30%), Lexus (+27%), Subaru (+21%) and Seat (+14%) stand out but Mini (-67%), Tesla (-47%), Opel (-45%), Land Rover (-44%), Dacia (-37%), Fiat (-36%), Mercedes (-36%), Jaguar (-33%), Mazda (-26%) and Citroen (-24%) all sink.
