Kazakhstan June 2018: Toyota, Lada, Hyundai push market up 21.2%

The Kazakh new vehicle market soars 21.2% year-on-year in June to 5.563 registrations, lifting the YTD volume up 36.1% to 27.155. Strikingly, the Top 3 carmakers all vastly outpace the market: Toyota is up 67% to 25.8% share, Lada up 38% to 21.3% and Hyundai up 221% to 13.7%. As a whole these 3 manufacturers hold a dominating 60.8% of Kazakhstan sales this month vs. 42.6% a year ago in June 2017. Chinese JAC (+113%) and Nissan (+62%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Renault (-28%) and Volkswagen (-13%) are hit hard. Further down, Isuzu (+6335), Mitsubishi (+358%), Skoda (+317%), Mazda (+167%) and Infiniti (+86%) stand out. Model-wise, the Toyota Camry (+81%) holds onto the pole position ahead of the Lada Granta (+122%) and Vesta (+283%) both posting spectacular year-on-year improvements. Inside the Top 10, the Hyundai Accent (+791%), Tucson (+254%), Elantra (+96%) and Toyota Prado (+63%) also impress. The Lifan X70 (#34) is the best-selling recent launch (<12 months) ahead of the Toyota C-HR (#45) new for the month.
