OICA has Nigeria new vehicle sales imploding down 70% in 2017 to just 6.999 units, and our source has shared with us sales data for vehicles imported through Nigeria ports, which amount to 1.974 for the year. The Toyota Hiace accounts for almost one in every three imported vehicles into the country in 2017, while the Mitsubishi L200 equals to around one in four. These two nameplates add up to an astounding 54.9% of all vehicles imported in Nigeria this year. tThe Toyota Avensis, Corolla and Mitsubishi Pajero round up the Top 5 while the Chevrolet N300, aka Wuling Rongguang, lurks at #7. Yet the overall best-seller in Nigeria should be the locally-assembled previous generation Ford Ranger.

…while the Ford Ranger should top the overall market.
