Kazakhstan January 2018: Lada and Ravon Nexia R3 top market up 32%

Thanks to our partnership with autoconsulting.kz we can share with you today January data for Kazakhstan, confirming its recovery with sales rallying back up 32% year-on-year to 3.255 units. Lada more than doubles its January 2017 score to reach an impressive 24.3% share vs. 17.8% over the Full Year 2017, overtaking Toyota – leader for the past two years – itself up 68% to 20.8% which is two percentage points above its winning FY17 share of 18.8%. Ravon gains a stunning 235% to 15.1% share vs. 9.4% last year, meaning the Top 3 carmakers hold a massive 60.2% share this month vs. just 46% in FY17. Hyundai follows the market at +34%, but GAZ (-9%), Kia (+12%) and most strikingly Volkswagen (-41%) underperform. Model-wise, the Ravon Nexia R3 manages a third win in the past five months thanks to deliveries up 111% year-on-year, distancing the Lada 4×4 (+16%) and Lada Granta (+77%). The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is up 159% to #4 ahead of last year’s leader the Toyota Camry (+78%). The Ravon R4 lands at #6, while the Lada Largus is up 12-fold to #8 and the Vesta is up 111-fold to #9.
