Qatar November 2017: Land Cruiser #1, Ford Explorer up to #3

The Qatari new car market tumbles down 30.8% year-on-year in November to 4.353 registrations, sending the year-to-date volume down 23.9% to 47.402 units. Toyota remains by far the best-selling carmaker in the county despite sales down 35% to 31.7% share vs. 32.3% year-to-date, followed this month by Nissan down 29% to 13.9%, Ford down 17% to 9.3% but up to #3 vs. #8 YTD, Mitsubishi down 38% to 7.3% and Kia down 27% to 6.2%. Chevrolet manages to only drop 3% while Suzuki soars 60%, Cadillac gains 122%, Isuzu is up 29%, Infinity is up 44% and Lincoln up to #13 vs. #24 year-to-date. In the models ranking, the Toyota Land Cruiser sells over double the amount of any other nameplate in the country at 12.2% share, and this despite a 29% year-on-year drop. The Toyota Hilux (-8%) ranks #2 while the Ford Explorer delivers the best performance of the month with sales up 32-fod in third place vs. #24 in 2017 so far and #78 in FY2016. The Nissan Sunny is up to #6, the Toyota Coaster up to #8, the Ford F-Series up to #10 and the Lincoln MKC up to #14 vs. #100 year-to-date. The Nissan Kicks (#21) leads all recent launches above the Range Rover Velar (#66).
