Serbia November 2017: Skoda and Octavia hold on top, market up 2.9%

The Skoda Octavia is by far the best-seller in Serbia in November.

According to our Central European data partner CE Auto, the Serbian new car market is up 2.9% year-on-year in November to 2.026 registrations, with the year-to-date volume now up 11.1% to 26.972 units. Local publication Vele Grume has these figures at 2.168 and 26.331 respectively. In the brands ranking, Skoda manages to hold onto the top spot for the second month running with sales up 5% to 14.3% share vs. 11.9% so far in 2017. Leader year-to-date, Fiat is stuck in 2nd place with deliveries edging up 0.4% to 12.% share vs. 13.6% this year. Volkswagen drops 6% in third place but Ford (+20%), Peugeot (+69%), Nissan (+77%) and most strikingly Mercedes (+113%) impress inside the Top 10. Beyond, Mazda (+42%), Citroen (+77%), Jeep (+79%), BMW (+90%), Alfa Romeo (+120%), Volvo (+186%) and Land Rover (+338%) are among the best performers. Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia posts a second consecutive win thanks to deliveries up 23% to 6% share, far above the YTD leader the Fiat 500L at 3.2% (-23%). The Opel Astra is back up five spots on October to #3 but drops 5% while the Fiat Punto reappears in the Top 10 for the first time since September 2016 at #4. The Fiat Tipo (#6 – best ranking in Serbia so far) and Ford Focus (#7) also shine.
