Latvia September 2017: Golf and Passat lead in market down 20.9%

The VW Golf is the best-selling vehicle in Latvia this month.

The Latvian new car market is down a harsh 20.9% year-on-year in September to 1.211 registrations, bringing the year-to-date tally close to stable at just +0.4% to 12.702 units. It’s an outstanding month for Volkswagen in Latvia with the Golf snapping the lead with a dominant 7.1% share vs. 3.9% YTD thanks to deliveries up a whopping 146% year-on-year and the Passat up 81% to 4.6%. As a result, the Golf is back up to #2 year-to-date, overtaking the Kia Sportage while the Nissan Qashqai (+8%) remains comfortably in the lead in spite of a 16% drop this month. The Dacia Duster is back inside the YTD Top 10 with sales up 106% on the same period in 2016.
