Yemen August 2017: Toyota holds 85.3% of market down 24%
The Toyota Land Cruiser is the best-selling vehicle in Yemen.

Although up 58% year-to-date to 2.605 units, new car sales in civil war-torn Yemen drop 24% year-on-year in August to just 326 registrations. In fact, the entire market follows the fortunes of Toyota, down 16% this month to an overwhelming 85.3% market share vs. 80.1% so far in 2016 (+134%). Land Rover leaps to 12.6% share in August vs. 4.9% year-to-date and the remaining three active manufacturers for the month are all below 5 sales… Model-wise, the Toyota Land Cruiser remains in the lead at 42.3% share in spite of a 27% drop, ahead of the Toyota Hilux at 18.1% and the Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup at 14.7%. The Range Rover is 4th above the Toyota Prado and Fortuner.
