Greece September 2017: Fiat and Nissan shine in market up 29.4%

The Greek new car market continues to gallop ahead with a 29.4% year-on-year surge in September to 5.947 registrations, lifting the year-to-date tally up 10.5% to 69.858 units. Toyota remains the most popular carmaker in the country, trailing the market slightly at +26% to 11.4% ahead of Opel edging up just 1% to 8.6%. Below, both Fiat (+61%) and Nissan (+54%) frankly outpace the market, as do Ford (+81%) and Hyundai (+240%) in the Top 10. Peugeot (+3%), Volkswagen (+15%), Suzuki (+20%) and Citroen (+24%) all lose share year-on-year. Outside the Top 10, Dacia (+42%), Kia (+59%), Honda (+60%), Audi (+72%), Jaguar (+75%), Skoda (+114%), Land Rover (+160%), Mitsubishi (+190%) and Porsche (+600%) all shine.
The Toyota Yaris (+30%) cements its spot as Greece’s best-selling nameplate this month, distancing the Opel Corsa (+2%) while the Fiat Panda (+90%) leaps onto the podium above the Nissan Qashqai (+42%). As a result, the Panda now ranks #3 year-to-date and the Qashqai #7. Other impressive gainers in the Top 10 are the Citroen C3 (+311%), Hyundai i20 (+180%) and Nissan Micra (+267%). Further down, notice the Ford Kuga up to #15, the Suzuki Vitara up 46% to #17 and the Hyundai i10 up 237% to #18. The Toyota C-HR leads recent launches at #21 equal with the Suzuki Ignis and five sales above the Audi Q2 (#24).
