Rep. of Macedonia May 2017: Peugeot 301 soars to pole position

The Peugeot 301 is the best-selling nameplate in the Republic of Macedonia in May.

New car sales in the Republic of Macedonia are down 7% year-on-year in May to 403 registrations, bringing the year-to-date tally down 1% to 2.184 units, this according to Eastern European data specialist CE Auto. There is a surprise atop the models ranking: the Peugeot 301 soars to pole position thanks to a splendid 6.9% market share, distancing the Ford Fiesta, Opel Corsa and Toyota Corolla. This performance enables the 301 to break into the year-to-date Top 10 at #10. The Kia Sportage rounds up the Top 5, while the Fiat Ducato (#7) and Doblo (#9) both make an appearance in the Top 10. Outside the 10 best-sellers in May, the Dacia Duster, #1 in 2016, however remains in the year-to-date lead despite sales down 34%.
